Save the Girl Program Launched!
The Care India Team welcomed its first group of girls by distributing their school supplies and clothing to them. The school items included backpacks, pens, erasers, rulers, pencils, notebooks. Each girl also received 2 sets of school uniforms.
The local members of the Press were surprised by the quality of the items given to the girls. We took the opportunity to reiterate our mission and purpose for the Save the Girl Program.
The Save the Girl program is the start of a holistic relationship between Care India and the girls and their families: Care India will equip the girls for life by providing not just an education, but also medical checkups and treatments, a nutritious lunch every day, and ongoing spiritual guidance.
Through our ongoing interactions with the girls, including academic and vocational testing, we hope to uncover their hidden potential. The girls in the Save the Girl Program will develop the skills they need to support themselves so that they will be viewed as assets to their families and will not fall victim to the criminal elements in society.
