Bore Wells for Drinking Water
Water resources in rural India are shared by all local villagers for purposes of drinking, cooking, bathing, and for providing water for livestock and agriculture. Sanitary sources of water are scarce and waterborne illnesses are common. To improve the health and lives of rural villagers, Care India drills wells that provide clean drinking water.
Each well is operated by a hydraulic hand pump. These are sturdy and designed for durability without maintenance. The cost to bore a well and install a pump is approximately $1,000. You can contribute any amount towards the cost of a new well.
